2010 Bank of the West Classic
The Bank of the West Classic 2010 was the 14th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Stanford. It was one of only five Premier tournaments of the WTA Tour in 2010. The tournament took place from 24 July to 1 August 2010 on the campus of Stanford University instead and was the first competition of the U.S. Open Series, the series on the preparation U.S. Open.
Defending champion in the individual was the pairing Serena Williams and Venus Williams, Marion Bartoli and in doubles.
In individual Wiktoryja Azarenka defeated Maria Sharapova 6-4, 6-1, in double Lindsay Davenport / Liezel Huber against Chan Yung- jan / Zheng Jie 7-5, 6:78, [ 10:8 ].
The field of individual petition consisted of 30 players, double that of the petition of 16 pairs. The two top-seeded players in single each received a bye into the second round.
