2010 BNP Paribas Masters

The BNP Paribas Masters 2010, a tennis tournament, which was held as part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000. It was part of the ATP World Tour, and was held in Paris. The tournament took place from 7th to November 14, 2010 instead, and was the last tournament of the ATP World Tour before the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Defending champion in the individual event was the Serb Novak Djokovic, but he had already failed in the second round. With Novak Djokovic (2009 ), David Nalbandian (2007), Nikolay Davydenko ( 2006), Tomáš Berdych (2005) took four former winners of the Paris Masters in the tournament. With Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Roddick were further three winners of Grand Slam tournaments at the start. With Federer the last of them was eliminated in the semifinals. In the final, the Swede Robin Soderling prevailed in two sets against Frenchman Gael Monfils. It was his second title this season and sixth overall. For the first time Söderling to win a Masters tournament.

In doubles, Daniel Nestor of Canadians and the Serb Nenad Zimonjic competed for the title defense. They divorced in the quarter- finals. The final was won by the Indian / Belarusian pair consisting of Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi in straight sets against the bahamaisch / Israeli team consisting of Mark Knowles and Andy Ram. For both it was the first title this season, and their seventh joint tournament victory.

The participants in the individual event consisted of 48 players ( the 16 top-seeded players received a bye in the first round ), that in a double competition from 24 teams (there were eight byes ).

The total prize money amounted to € 2,227,500, the entire financial liabilities amounted to € 2,750,000. Supervisor of ATP were Tom Barnes and Carlos Sanches.

At the BNP Paribas Masters 2010 in the main draw of the singles tournament 48 players from 23 nations took part. Most often was with 8 players to represent France, gefolt of Spain ( 6 ) and the USA (4). In the doubles were 24 pairs with 48 players from 26 nations. Here Germany, France, Spain and the U.S. were the most highly represented with four players each.
