2010 IAAF World Cross Country Championships

The 38th IAAF World Cross Country Championships IAAF ( IAAF World Cross Country 38th officially Championships 2010 ) were held in Bydgoszcz ( Poland) on 28 March 2010.

Course

The races were held on a roughly two -kilometer circuit in Myślęcinek Park, additionally a distance of 40 meters before the first round and 96 meters after the last round was to be completed. The men ran six rounds, the women and juniors, four and three juniors.

Competitions

A total of four races were held, one each for men and women and junior men and junior women ( born 1994 or earlier). In each race team classification was performed. For the rankings of the four best participants from one country were added, won the team with the lowest total. With a tie, the placement of the fourth runner evaluated decided. Each country was allowed to use a maximum of six runners in each event.

The IAAF poured into the adult race prize money of amounting to a total of 280,000 U.S. dollars. Of this amount, $ 30,000 each to the individual winner and $ 20,000 to the winning teams.

Individual classification

Of 136 reported 135 athletes took to the start and reached the goal of 127. The Swiss Stéphane Joly finished in 72nd place 35:41 min
