2010 International German Open
The German Open Tennis Championship 2010 was a tennis tournament, which took place in Hamburg from 19th to 25th July 2010. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2010 and was discharged on clay court. In the same week the Atlanta Tennis Championships were played in Atlanta. These included, in contrast to the German Open Tennis Championship, which belong to Category ATP World Tour 500, only to Category ATP World Tour 250
Defender of the single was Nikolay Davydenko, but he already was eliminated in the second round against Andrei Golubev, who won the tournament this year. In the final he beat Jurgen Melzer in straight sets 6:3 and 7:5. This was the first victory of Golubev on the ATP World Tour. In doubles, Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley competed for the title defense, but they divorced already in the quarter- finals. This year, Marc Lopez and David Marrero won the final against Jérémy Chardy and the duo Paul -Henri Mathieu in straight sets 6:3, 2:6 and [ 10:8 ].
The field of the individual competition consisted of 48 players, double that of the petition of 16 pairs. The 16 top-seeded player in singles each got a bye into the second round.
