2011–12 Biathlon World Cup

The Biathlon World Cup 2011/2012 World Cup was held at nine locations. The Biathlon World Championships 2012 were held in Ruhpolding ( Germany ). As a substructure of the Biathlon IBU Cup acted 2011/2012.

Defending overall World Cup were Kaisa Mäkäräinen for women and Tarjei Bø in men.

Due to lack of snow, originally of French Annecy -Le Grand -Bornand intended third World Cup early December 2011 was canceled. As in the 2008/2009 season served the Austrian community Hochfilzen as a replacement organizer and taught for two World Cups consecutively.

Starter quotas

The starting quota for the individual nations resulting from the results of the previous World Cup. The top five associations of the national rankings allowed six starters per individual and sprint races send, the associations of the ranks six to ten five and so on.

Rule Changes

The coating results in the World Cup have been re-introduced. In future, the two worst scores are dropped from the standings at season's end. Squad and season of Nations

Germany

The coaching staff there were no changes. The highest training squad 1a was reduced in women by Sabrina Buchholz, was increased in men by Erik Lesser and Florian Graf. France

Italy

For men, as with women, there were hardly any changes in the squad and its structural composition. Almost all athletes are members of police sports clubs. Even the coach and coaching staff remained largely the same.

Norway

The elite squad of men remained unchanged to the previous season. In the elite squad of women the junior Tiril Eckhoff and Bente camp went on, even this squad is now also comprised of six athletes. The coaches question especially among men is not yet fully understood. Martin Eng refused admission to the Rekrutt squad. Julie Bonnevie - Svendsen and Solveig Rogstad ended their careers, Ann Kristin Flatland had in October to cancel the season because of her pregnancy.

Austria

Russia
