2011–12 Czech Extraliga season
The season 2011/12 is the 19th regular hosting of the highest Czech ice hockey league, the Tipsport Extraliga. Acting Master is the HC Ocelari Třinec, HC Vitkovice Steel of the defeated 4-1 victory in the best- of-seven series in the playoff finals. Since the BK Mladá Boleslav in the season in the relegation against the champions of League 1, the HC Slovan Ustecti Lvi, prevailed, there was no losers.

Mode
In 52 games, all teams play against each other four times each, each team throughout the season 26 home and 26 away games. The teams ranked 1-6 qualify directly for the play-offs, which will be played in best-of- seven- mode. The teams ranked 7-10 play the other two playoff spots in the best-of -five from each other. The remaining four teams will play a relegation round (play- out ), the last has to participate in the League relegation against the champions of the first league that is played like the playoffs in the best- of-seven mode.

Main Round
During the main round, which was won by HC Sparta Prague, some coaches were replaced. Mid-October 2001 dismissed the BK Mladá Boleslav Vladimir Jerabek, whose post as acting director of sport Milan Hnilička took over. It was not until the end of November was presented at BK with Petr Novak a new coach. On November 30, was the head coach of HC Verva Litvinov, Vladimír Kýhos replaced by Jiří Kučera. A month later found Kýhos a new job, when he was introduced as the new coach of HC Energie Karlovy Vary and there Vaclav Baďouček replaced.
The HC Ocelari Třinec released mid January 2012 Pavel Marek and undertook January Tlačil as their new coach. In early February of the same year was also Vladimir Jerabek a new post, when he took over as coach at HC Verva Litvinov Jiří Kučera.
