2011–12 IFA Premiership

The IFA Premiership 2011/12 was the fourth season of the highest Northern Ireland football league since the reorganization of the League and the 111th season overall. The season started on August 6, 2011 and ended on 28 April 2012.

After 33 matchdays the league said in a playoff champion and a Abstiegsplayout with six teams in which each team once ran against each team in the group.

The Linfield FC was able to successfully defend the title and won his championship total of 51. At the other end of the table Carrick Rangers were relegated to the second division. Lisburn Distillery won the relegation matches against Newry City with 0:0 and 3:2 for themselves and therefore remained in the top division.

Expulsion

The Elftplatzierte Lisburn Distillery played after the regular season two relegation matches against the runner-up of the IFA Championship, Newry City. After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Lisburn won the return match in Newry 3-2 and remains so in the highest league in Northern Ireland.
