The 2011/2012 season was the 14th season of the highest Scottish football league of gentlemen, the Scottish Premier League. It began on July 23, 2011 with the play of the defending champions Glasgow Rangers against Heart of Midlothian and ended on 13 May 2012. Glasgow Celtic won the Scottish Championship 43 total in the club's history. The season was overshadowed by the looming insolvency of Glasgow Rangers.
