2011–12 UCI Asia Tour
The UCI Asia Tour, the International Cycling Union Cycliste by the Union Internationale (UCI ) introduced for season 2005 asian street cycling calendar below the UCI ProTour ( since 2011: UCI World Tour ) and is one of the UCI Continental Circuits. The seventh season begins on October 1, 2011 and ends on 30 September 2012.
The one-day races and stage races of the UCI Asia Tour are divided into three categories (HC, 1 and 2). For every race points are awarded for a score. At this rating participate the Professional Continental teams and Continental teams. At the individual race ProTeam also can participate, the placements made by the ProTeam riders remain but for the ranking disregarded.
The UCI announced on January 26, 2012 that the three Asian Continental teams Tabriz Petrochemical Team, Terengganu Cycling Team and Azad University due to their placement in a fictional ranking to start the season starts right to all races of the first and second UCI category.
