Background
After the Grand Prix of India Sebastian Vettel led the drivers' championship with 134 points, ahead of Jenson Button with 147 points, ahead of Fernando Alonso. Red Bull -Renault resulted in the constructors' championship with 153 points ahead of McLaren -Mercedes with 270 points ahead of Ferrari.
