2011 AFC Cup

The AFC Cup 2011 is the eighth edition of the Asian Football Confederation ( AFC) discharged AFC Cup. During a restructuring and upgrading of the AFC Champions League for new criteria and the AFC Cup was awarded in 2009 a different face than in previous years. Turner was held to 29 October 2011 of March 1. The draw for the group stage took place on December 7, 2010 at the headquarters of the Asian Association in Kuala Lumpur.

Eligible countries

In total, some 32 teams from the associations belonging to the AFC at AFC Cup 2011:

  • Each two teams from Hong Kong Hong Kong, Iraq, Iraq, Yemen, Yemen, Jordan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lebanon, Maldives, Oman, Syria, Syria, Vietnam Vietnam
  • Team each from Bahrain Bahrain (application withdrawn; replaced by Uzbekistan Uzbekistan), India India, Thailand Thailand
  • Four invitations for teams from: Indonesia, Iraq, Iraq, Singapore and Uzbekistan Uzbekistan

In addition, the four losers of the play-offs of the AFC Champions League 2011 and the two finalists of the AFC Cup 2010, which did not meet the criteria to participate in the AFC Champions League and have automatically get a place for the AFC Cup 2011.

Mode

Group stage

In the group stage play 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams in the league mode (outward and return ) to the three- point rule. The teams will be divided on a geographical basis: In groups A to E teams play from West and Central Asia, in the groups F to H to occur teams from East and Southeast Asia. The two group winners will qualify for the Final Round of 16

Final round

The second round will be drawn and resolved in only one game. From the quarter- finals of the tournament winner will be played in the knockout system with return game, the away goals rule. If in the return game and / or final after regular time and extra time are fixed no winner, the winner in the penalty shootout is determined.

The final will be played in only one game. The venue is the home of one of the two finalists.

The meetings will be held on 24 and 25 May 2011, Second leg matches, there is not in the second round.

Quarterfinals

The first legs were held on 13 September and the return matches on 27 September 2011.

The first legs will find on 4 October, the return legs on 18 October 2011.
