2011 AON Open Challenger

The AON Open Challenger 2011 was the ninth edition of the clay tennis court tournament in Genoa. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2011 and was held from 6th to 11th September 2011 at the outside.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. For the individual tournament, a qualifying round with 24 participants took place in the run-up in which four players were able to qualify for the main draw. The prize money of the event was a total of 85,000 €.

In single won the set at position six Slovak Martin Klizan, who won the final against the unseeded Argentine Leonardo Mayer in straight sets. This was the second Challenger singles title of his career. Last year's winner Fabio Fognini of Italy did not appear to defend their title.

In the doubles competition, the top-seeded German - Argentine pairing consisting of Dustin Brown and Horacio Zeballos won the final against the set at position three Jordan Kerr and Travis Parrott of Australia from the U.S. in straight sets. This was Brown's ninth title on the Challenger Tour in a double of his career and the second this season. For Zeballos it was the 15th title in a dual tournament on Challenger level and also the second of the season. It was their first joint success. The German last year's winner Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich occurred this year both not to defend his title.
