2011 CAF Champions League

The CAF Champions League 2011 was the 15th edition of the tournament organized by CAF. It began on 28 January 2011 with the first round. Tout Puissant Mazembe is the defending champion from the Democratic Republic of Congo, which, however, was disqualified in the second round after a rule violation. The winner was the Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunis, which could defeat the challenger from Morocco Wydad Casablanca after a 0-0 draw in the first leg, the second leg 1-0.

Qualification

Theoretically, all member associations of CAF are entitled to send teams. For the 12 best national associations of CAF - five-year rating two starting places are automatically reserved. This is valid for the qualification for the Champions League 2011, the Appreciation of the years 2005 to 2009. Thus apparent from the number of members of the CAF football associations that a maximum of 67 teams in the Champions League could participate.

First leg from March 18 to 20, Second leg matches from 1 to 3 April 2011.

Second round

Special Playoff

Since the Tout Puissant Mazembe defending champion in the first round against Simba SC a player began that was not eligible to play the games against Wydad Casablanca were canceled and this will compete in a playoff against Simba SC. The winner of the playoff draws in the group stage.

Quarter-final ( Group Stage )
