2011 FIBA Asia Championship
The basketball Asia Championship 2011 ( officially: FIBA Asia Championship 2011) was the 26th edition of this tournament and took place from September 15 to September 25, 2011 in China instead. It was organized by FIBA Asia, the Asian Basketball Federation. The winner was awarded a place at the Olympic Games in 2012.

All games were played in two different gyms in Wuhan.
Preliminary round
In the preliminary round of four teams playing in four groups against each other. The winner of the match was awarded two points, the loser one point. The top three in each group reached the group stage. The fourth-placed played for places 13-16.

After the preliminary competition, the first three teams qualified in each of a group for the group stage. The three best teams in the groups A and B form the group E, the best of the groups C and D form the new group F. Each team met once against each of the three teams from the other Preliminary Round group. The points from the preliminary round games against teams from their own group were counted.

After the second round to the first four teams qualified in each of the two groups E and F for the final round. It was played in the quarter final cross against an opponent from the other sub-lap group. Subsequently, both the winners of the quarter finals met in the semi-finals, and the losers in the placement round for positions five to eight. The winners of the semi-finals bestreiteten the finals, the loser, the third-place match. The winners of the placement games played for fifth place, the losers for seventh place. The fifth and six placed from Groups E and F were playing cross KO system for places 9 to 12

China qualified for the Olympic Summer Games 2012 in London. Jordan and South Korea qualified for the pre-Olympic qualifying tournament in Venezuela.
