2011 Rally Argentina

The Rally 2011 Argentina was the sixth round of the World Rally Championship in 2011 and also a round of the Production World Rally Championship in 2011. Day 1 ( Thursday, May 26 )

The rally was opened with a short special stage of 3.02 kilometers, in Sébastien Loeb set the fastest time.

Day 2 (Friday, 27th)

The following day some quick asphalt sections were completed. The fastest was Jari- Matti Latvala on the road, which took the lead in the morning and four bests secured in a row. Loeb, however, received a penalty, because he had accidentally checked in early for time control before WP 4. After the second day Latvala at 18.2 seconds ahead of Petter Solberg and Sébastien Ogier 28.8 seconds before the lead. Loeb already missing one and a half minutes to the top.

Day 3 ( Friday, May 28 )

On the third day Loeb launched a fightback. Latvala lost with his first unfavorable starting position on the floor. A broken strut cost him to WP 13 over 20 seconds, after Ogier took the lead. Finally Latvala had 14 finally give up on WP. Petter Solberg lost his chances of victory on WP 15 with a defective power steering, for which he lost about one minute. In the evening had Ogier a comfortable lead of 43.7 seconds for the next pursuer. Mikko Hirvonen was now in second place, just four seconds behind him already followed Loeb.

Day 4 (Saturday, 29 May),

On the third day Latvala was among the SupeRally rules, with ten penalty minutes, started again. Another change at the top brought the 48.21 km long WP 16, Ogier overturned. He was able to continue with his heavily damaged car, his lead dwindled to 21.5 seconds. Loeb pushed meanwhile to Hirvonen by and was in second place. Ogier could not keep up with the persecutors with the damaged vehicle and was on the last special stage in third place, behind Loeb and Hirvonen, passed. Loeb managed, contrary to expectations, after the time penalty, but still the win. The bonus points on the Power Stage brought Petter Solberg, Hirvonen and Loeb. The competition was won by Hayden Paddon PWRC. 27 vehicles counted.
