2011 Tallahassee Tennis Challenger

The Tallahassee Tennis Challenger 2011 was the 12th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Tallahassee. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour 2011 and was held from 9 to 16 April 2011.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. For the individual tournament, a qualifying round with 26 participants took place in the run-up in which four players were able to qualify for the main draw. The prize money of the event was $ 50,000.

Prior to the set at position four American Ryan Sweeting had to give up his place because he appeared too late for the tournament. For him, the Australians Joseph Sirianni enlisted as a lucky loser into the main draw. Winner of the individual competition was set at position seven Americans Donald Young, who defeated his compatriot in the final qualifier Wayne Odesnik us in three sets. It was Young's fifth challenger title of his career. Last year's winner Brian Dabul from Argentina difference at position five set out in the second round.

In the doubles competition at the set position three Canadian -US pairing could Vasek Pospisil and consisting of Bobby Reynolds prevail against the unseeded Gō Soeda from Japan and James Ward of Great Britain in the final. This was Pospisils fifth success in a doubles tournament of the Challenger category of his career. For Reynolds, it was the second title in the tournament in Tallahassee and the total of 19 doubles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. It was their first joint tournament success. Last year's winners Stephen Huss and Joseph Sirianni of Australia came into this constellation, not to defend the title. While Huss completely renounced participation, Sirianni difference with his partner Fritz Wolmarans this year from South Africa in the first round.
