2012–13 DEL season

The DEL 2012/13 season was the 19th season since the founding of the German Ice Hockey League, the highest league in the German Ice Hockey. The season started with the Main Round on 14 September 2012, and ended with the fourth final of the play-offs on 21 April 2013.

Masters were the polar bears Berlin, which thus won their seventh title.

After the season, the Arena Hannover GmbH, Hannover Scorpions sold on May 24, 2013 to Villingen -Schwenningen, where they will compete with the name of the former second division Schwenningen Wild Wings in the DEL.

Mode

As in previous years, a double round was played. The top six teams qualified directly for the play- offs, the teams will play in the squares 7-10 in best-of -three series two more play-off participants. The quarter-final series were played in the mode Best of Seven, semifinals and finals in the Best of Five mode.
