2012–13 NLA season
The season 2012/13 was the sixth regular season after the renaming of the former Swiss National League A in National League A. Since the NLB Champion SC Langenthal in 2012 failed in the League qualifier on HC Ambri -Piotta, started the league in 2012/13 with the same teams as last season.

Mode
Be played by the 12 teams 2 double rounds of 22 games. There are 6 per team per additional matches against three opponents, on the basis of a regional division (East, Central, West ) are fixed. Overall, therefore, denies any team's 50 qualifying matches. After that, the best eight teams in the playoffs determine the champion Swiss style. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played on the mode best -of-seven.
The other four teams determine the playout that team that has to play in the league against the champions of the National League B.

League qualifier
The League qualification is consistently played in the Best of Seven mode. The loser of the NLA Playout SCL Tigers hits the NLB Master Lausanne HC. The winner of the series will qualify for the 2013/14 NLA Season.
