2012–13 VTB United League

VTB United League 2012/13 season was the fourth season of Basketball League VTB. At the VTB United League Season 2012/13 participated in 20 teams from 9 countries. The season started in October 2012 and ended in May 2013. Winner was the fourth time CSKA Moscow.

Tournament format

In the regular season, 20 teams played in two groups of two rounds each against all. The best six in each group then participated in the play-offs. The first and second place had a bye in the second round.

In the second round, a team needed two wins to progress, from the quarter- finals with three wins were necessary.

Compared to last year resigned from two teams. Asseco Prokom had to leave the league because of financial difficulties. BC Budiwelnik Kiev was ruled out due to high financial demands.

New additions were the teams of Neptunas Klaipeda in Lithuania, Triumph Ljuberzy from Russia and Turow Zgorzelec in Poland.

BK Donetsk returned by Wild Card from Ukraine back under the participants.
