2012 ATP Challenger Tour Finals

The ATP Challenger Tour Finals 2012 was a tennis tournament, Brazil was held from November 26 to December 2, 2012 on hard court in the stadium Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo.

The tournament was held by the ATP for the second time and was part of the ATP Challenger Tour, 2012. It was the end of season tournament for the players of the ATP Challenger Tour. Qualifies were the best seven players of the year 2012, and a player who has been nominated as a wild card by the organizer. It was played in two groups of four in the so-called round- robin fashion, where each player took once against all other players in the same group. The respective top two players in each group qualified for the final round was played in KO system, each of the group winners against the runners-up of the other group took.

Prize money and points

The total prize money amounted to 220,000 U.S. dollars.

Qualification

The seven highest ranked masters of the ATP Challenger Tour qualified for this competition. Then there was a reservist.

Decisive for the qualification level was the ATP Challenger annual ranking, 5th November 2012.

The different background colors mean:

  • The seven players whose name is highlighted in green, were qualified for São Paulo
  • The 13 players whose name is highlighted in orange, had ended their season prematurely and took their start right in São Paulo is not it

In addition to the qualified for the Challenger Tour Final Victor Hanescu players, Paolo Lorenzi, Aljaž Bedene, Guido Pella, Rubén Ramírez Hidalgo, Gastão Elias and Adrian Ungur Thomaz Bellucci took as topgesetzter player with a wildcard in part. As a substitute Thiago Alves was nominated, who came to the mission after the first match for Bellucci.
