2012 ATP World Tour Finals
The ATP World Tour Finals 2012 took place from 5 to 12 November 2012 as the year in London at the O2 Arena; was played on indoor hard courts. In addition to the four Grand Slam tournaments, the ATP World Tour Finals are the most important competition in the men's professional tennis; they are always held at the end of the season. The tournament was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012.
Defender of the single was Roger Federer, who defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final in 2011. He also reached the final again this year, where he joined the world number one Novak Djokovic was beaten in straight sets itself. For Djokovic, this is the second title at the annual closing event, the first he won in 2008 in Shanghai, when the tournament was still called Tennis Masters Cup. In doubles, the defending champions Daniel Nestor and Max Mirny that could prevail in the last year against Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski were. The two already failed this time in the group stage. Qualification
The top eight players in the ATP Tour qualified for this competition. In addition there were two reservists. Rafael Nadal, since June 26 already qualified, but called off due to injury.
With Roger Federer ( 2003-04, 2006-07, 2010-11 ) and Novak Djokovic (2008) was attended by two former winners of the tournament at this year's event.

Doubles
Qualification
In principle, the top eight doubles pairings of the ATP Tour qualified for this competition. However, qualified was also a team that won a Grand Slam tournament and had secured a place in the top 20 in the world rankings at the end. Through this scheme, the Wimbledon champion Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen were qualified, even though they were only in 11th place which is relevant for the Finals Race to London by the collected points during the year.
