2012 Copa Libertadores Femenina

The Copa Libertadores Femenina 2012 was the fourth edition of the only international women's football competition in South America. At the tournament participated twelve clubs from all ten provincial associations of the South American continental football federation CONMEBOL. After eleven days, the team of Chilean club Colo -Colo was the winner. For the first time, no Brazilian team secured the trophy. The best player of the tournament Karen Araya was the Mannschaftskapitänin of the victorious club, excellent.

On September 28, 2012, CONMEBOL announced that the tournament will take place in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. As venues Recife were determined with the Estádio de Barros Carvalho Eládio, Caruaru with the Estádio Luiz José de Lacerda and Vitória de Santo Antão with the Estádio Municipal Severino Cândido Carneiro.

Group stage

The mode is left unchanged compared to 2011. The twelve teams were assigned to three groups Vieter; the corresponding draw took place on 9 October 2012 at the headquarters of the Federación de Fútbol Pernambucana. For the semi-final, the qualified group winners and the best runner-up. Case of a tie in the group stage on goal difference for the next round was decisive, then the number of goals scored and finally the result of the teams in question in their game against each other. If still not resolved balance, it was up to the organizers to decide would have been how to proceed. Had two teams were equal on points on a meeting on the last day of group matches, a match appended penalty shoot-out would have brought the decision.

All matches of the tournament were - unlike the men's edition - is discharged without games.

Group A

All games in Group A were played in Recife.

Group B

All games in Group B were played in Caruaru.

Group C

All games in Group C were played in Vitória de Santo Antão.

Final rounds

The semi-finals were held on 23 and the match for third place and the final on November 25, 2012 discharged. Venue of all four games was Vitória de Santo Antão. The final will be more fully described below in the info box.
