2012 Ethias Trophy

The Ethias Trophy 2012 was a tennis tournament which took place in Mons from 1 to 7 October 2012. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour in 2012 and was held in the indoor hard courts.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. In the individual competition, there was a qualifying round with 16 players, by the four players could qualify for the main draw itself. The prize money of the event totaled € 106,500.

Winner of the individual competition was the Frenchman Kenny de Schepper, who moved up only on the qualifications in the main round finale. He defeated in the final of the unseeded Frenchman Michaël Llodra in the tiebreak of the third set. It was de Scheppers second individual title at Challenger level of his career and the first of the season.

The doubles competition won the unseeded Poland Tomasz Bednarek and Jerzy Janowicz, the top-seeded French pairing consisting of the individual finalists Michaël Llodra and Edouard Roger -Vasselin defeated in the final match in the tiebreaker. It was already Bednarek's second victory at Mons after 2007. Moreover, it was his twelfth career title with a doubles competition of the Challenger category, and the fourth in this season. For Janowicz it was the second Challengertitel in a double of his career, both of which he attained this year.
