2012 European Trophy

The European Trophy 2012 is the third edition of the same competition, which is organized by the participating hockey clubs and partially used for pre-season training. The preliminary round of the tournament will be played between 31 July and 28 November 2012. The final tournament of the eight best teams will be held from December 13 to 16 under the name Red Bulls Salute to Vienna and Bratislava instead.

Preliminary round

In the preliminary round, which will be held between 12 August and 28 November 2012 play the 32 teams in four divisions of eight teams. Each team plays the other seven teams in the group and, in addition, an eighth match against local rivals.

Final round

The final round was held between 13 and 16 December 2012, under the name Red Bulls Salute in Vienna, Austria, and in Bratislava, Slovakia. The hosts UPC Vienna Capitals and HC Slovan Bratislava are recognized as two of the eight teams set automatically.
