2012 Farmers Classic

The Farmers Classic 2012 was a tennis tournament which until July 29, 2012 took place from 23 in Los Angeles. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was discharged on hard court. In the same week the bet-at -home Cup Kitzbühel in Kitzbühel were played that counted just like the Farmers Classic to Category ATP World Tour 250.

Defender of the individual warErnests Gulbis, who took part this year in the parallel tournament in Kitzbühel. Noteworthy was the fact that with Benoît Paire only one player from the current top 50 in the world ranking participated in the tournament. The final was Sam Querrey, of the tournament in 2009 and 2010 won already, and the Lithuanians Ričardas Berankis opposite. Berankis remained in his first ATP final, however chance, Querrey won clearly 6-0, 6-2. It was his third title in Los Angeles and the seventh of his career. In doubles, was the pairing Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse, the defending champion, they entered this year but not more in tandem. While Knowles did not participate in the tournament, Malisse plays alongside his compatriot Ruben Bemelmans. Malisse and Bemelmans won the tournament then, in the final they defeated the British Jamie Delgado and Ken Skupski just in three sets. It was the first joint title of the Belgians, and Malisses seventh and Bemelmans first career hit.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 28 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The four top-seeded player in a single each received a bye into the second round.
