2012 Fed Cup

The Fed Cup 2012 was the 50th edition of the tennis tournament of national teams of women. The Czech Fed Cup team was able to repeat their success from last year and celebrate with a final victory over Serbia the second title of her team history.

Mode

• The winners of the first round of the World Group play in the semifinals to reach the finals.
• The losers of the first round of the World Group play against a winner of the World Group II first round. These winners played in the 2013 World Group and the losers in the 2013 World Group II
• The losers of the World Group II first round played against one of the qualifying teams. These were made up of two teams of Europa-/Afrika-Zone and each with a team from the Asien-/Ozeanien-Zone and the America zone. The winners played in the 2013 World Group II and the losers in the respective zone.
