2012 Heineken Open

The Heineken Open 2012 was a tennis tournament, which was held in Auckland from 9 to 14 January 2012. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was discharged on hard court. In the same week was played in Sydney the Apia International Sydney, which was one exactly like the Heineken Open to Category ATP World Tour 250.

In single- David Ferrer successfully defended in the final against Olivier Rochus his title from last year and won with 6:3, 6:4. Rochus had reached the final in Auckland have previously had in 2005; then he lost to Fernando González.

The double winner of 2011, Marcel Granollers and Tommy Robredo, took no part in the tournament in 2012. In the final, the top seeded Austrian duo Oliver Marach / Alexander Peya the set at number three Frantisek Cermak / Filip Polášek defeated 6:3, 6:2.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 28 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The four top-seeded player in singles each got a bye into the second round.
