2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season

The Intercontinental Rally Challenge 2012 was the seventh season of IRC. The season began on 23 February with the Sata Rallye Açores and ended on November 3, with the Cyprus Rally.

Race Calendar

The race calendar was extensively altered in comparison to the previous season. No longer the race calendar included the Monte Carlo Rally and the Rally of Scotland. There were four new events in Northern Ireland, San Marino, Romania and Bulgaria. The total number of events increased from eleven to 13 Later in the season, it was announced that the Canon Mecsek Rallye in Hungary is replaced by the Targa Florio in Sicily.

Results

1 The Targa Florio Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia was canceled after the eighth of eleven stages after Gareth Roberts, the co-driver Craig Breen, was killed in a serious accident.

2 Laszlo Vizin occupied at the Prime Yalta Rally in third place, but was awarded no points.

3 Igtnat Isaev took third place at the Rally Sliven, but was not considered for the general classification in the IRC. Therefore, the points for the third place went to Krum Donchev

Appreciation

Points are awarded to the first placed ten riders took place after the official FIA standard.

Drivers' championship

In the drivers' standings only the best eight individual results were used to each driver. At the last race of the season, the Cyprus Rally, double points were awarded.
