2012 Ironman World Championship

The Ironman Triathlon World Series 2012 is a race series of 25 triathlon competitions on the Triathlon Long Distance. The World Triathlon Corporation ( WTC) is held every year such Ironman Triathlon World Series.

Organization

An Ironman race goes on the Triathlon Long Distance: 3.86 km swim, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running.

With 25 races of the season as well as the parallel races on the half Ironman distance ( Ironman 70.3 ), the triathletes were for a starting place for the Ironman Hawaii on 13 October 2012, the Triathlon World Championships Long Distance qualify.

Appreciation

The top 50 men and 30 women of the pro athletes get a starting place. The Hawaiian winners are eligible for three years, and the places 2-10 are automatically qualified for a spot in the following year.

For the winners, many points are in an Ironman race differently awarded: Most points are on Hawaii (6,000), followed by the Ironman Germany (Frankfurt ), and the Ironman Texas ( 4000 ). Awarded All other Ironman races over the full distance in either 1,000 or 2,000 points for a win.
