2012 Malaysian Open
The BMW Malaysian Open 2012 is a hard court tennis tournament for women in Kuala Lumpur. It is a tournament of the International Category of the WTA Tour in 2012. The tournament will take place from 24 February to 4 March 2012. In the same week the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco, see also held as International tournament of the WTA Tour in 2012.
Both titles in singles and in doubles went in 2012 to Taiwanese tennis players. In single unseeded qualifier Hsieh Su -wei won against the fifth- placed Croatian Petra Martić in three sets 2:6, 7:5, task Martić with the score at 4-1 in the third set. This is the first title in the individual on the WTA tour for the Taiwanese, the date celebrated on the tour only success in doubles. In doubles, the duo Taiwanese Chang Kai- chen and Chuang Chia -jung sat against the Taiwanese - Japanese pairing Chan Hao -ching and Rika Fujiwara through in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
