2012 MercedesCup

The MercedesCup 2012, there were a tennis tournament, which took place in Stuttgart from 9 to 15 July 2012. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was discharged on clay court. In the same week were in the SkiStar Swedish Open Bastad played in Newport Campbell 's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, and in Umag ATP Vegeta Croatia Open, which included just like the MercedesCup to Category ATP World Tour 250.

The defending champion in singles, Juan Carlos Ferrero, went this year to the parallel tournament in Umag. In the final, top-seeded Janko Tipsarevic, the two faced each other and Juan Mónaco. In his first clay court final, Tipsarevic against Mónaco prevailed in three sets 6:4, 5:7, 6:3, and thus celebrated his third title in his career. Contrast Mónaco missed his third tournament win of the current season. In doubles, won last year Jurgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner the title, but Petzschner played this time with a new partner. After he had retired due to injury from the individual competition, he joined handicapped in his opening match and lost it on the side of Christopher Kas significantly. The tournament was won the unseeded Łukasz Kubot Jérémy Chardy and against the set at position four Michal Mertiňák and André Sá. For Chardy and Kubot it was the first joint title. Mertiňák and Sá playing together since the beginning of 2012, in order also suffered in her fourth final this season defeat.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 28 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The four top-seeded player in singles each got a bye into the second round.
