2012 Open Sud de France
The Open Sud de France 2012 was a tennis tournament, which was held in Montpellier from 30 January until 5 February 2012. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was held in the indoor hard courts. In the same week the PBZ Zagreb Indoors and were played in Viña del Mar, the VTR Open in Zagreb, which included just like the Open Sud de France to Category ATP World Tour 250.
The tournament was last held in October 2010, then won Gaël Monfils in individual and Stephen Huss and Ross Hutchins in the doubles titles. Monfils reached the finals again, but lost in three sets against the top-seeded Tomas Berdych, who thus won his seventh ATP title.
In double Hutchins played now with a new partner, but with which he retired in the quarterfinals. In this year's finals Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger -Vasselin won in straight sets against Paul Hanley and Jamie Murray. After they had previously won several Challenger tournaments together, this was their first joint ATP title. For Roger -Vasselin it was also the first ATP title at all, while Mahut had won during his career, three more titles with other partners.
The field of individual petition consisted of 28 players, double that of the petition of 16 pairs. The four top-seeded player in singles each got a bye into the second round.
