2012 Pan American Men's Handball Championship
The 15th Pan-American championship of men took place from 18 June to 24 June 2012 in Argentina instead. The event was the Pan-American Team Handball Federation ( PATHF ). The title could win with a victory in the final over Brazil, the Argentine national handball team. The first three winners - Argentina, Brazil and Chile - qualified for the World Cup 2013.

Preliminary round
In the preliminary round, the nine teams played in a group of five teams and one group of four teams. Within a group, each team meets once against any other team. The top two teams in each group qualified for the semi-finals.
