2012 Premier League Darts
The McCoy's Premier League Darts in 2012 was an invitational event, which was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was held from 9 February to 17 May 2012 at the Round Robin system, followed by semifinals and finals. The 14 round match days were Thursdays from 9 February to 10 May, 2012. The play-offs were played on 17 May 2012 in the O ₂ Arena in London.
Defending champion was the Scot Gary Anderson, who defeated in the finals of last year in a rematch of the World Cup final of 2011 the reigning world champion Adrian Lewis of England with 10:4 in Legs.
This season Phil Taylor prevailed, which was both in the group stage in the lead as prevailed in the play-off games.
On German television, the Premier League 2012 was broadcast live on Sport 1. The pay- TV channel Sport 1 showed the game live days and complete.
Prizes
The prize money has been increased in comparison to previous years to £ 50,000 to a new total of £ 450,000.
The prize money obtained were not considered for the Order of Merit.

- Semi-finals: £ 50,000 ( losers of the semi-finals )
- 5th place: 40,000 GBP
- 6th place: 35,000 GBP
- 7th place: 30,000 GBP
- 8th place: 25,000 GBP
Qualification
For the Premier League, the four top-ranked players in the Order of Merit were qualified. Additionally, two wildcards by the PDC and the British TV channel Sky Sports have been awarded. Vice World Champion Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter, winner of the last Players Championship Finals, first took part in the Premier League.

Competition mode
The eight players met each successive twice. The matches were played in a best of 14 - mode and were terminated as soon as one player has won 8 legs. The Premier League was held to 14 games, with the four top-ranked players qualified for the play-off semi-finals.
