2012 Proton Malaysian Open

The Malaysian Open 2012 was a tennis tournament, which was held in Kuala Lumpur from 24 to 30 September 2012. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was held in the indoor hard courts. In the same week the Thailand Open was played in Bangkok, who scored just like the Malaysian Open to Category ATP World Tour 250.

Defender of the single was Janko Tipsarevic, who took part in this year at the Thailand Open. In this year's final of the Argentine Juan Mónaco defeated Julien Benneteau the French in a three -hour long three-set match. For Mónaco this was the fourth season title and the seventh overall of his career; Benneteau, however, continued his poor run at playoffs continued, the final in Kuala Lumpur was already the seventh of his career without ever once occur as a win.
