2012 Qatar Open

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2012 was a tennis tournament, which was held in Doha from 2 to 7 January 2012. It was part of the ATP World Tour in 2012 and was discharged on hard court. In the same week Brisbane were the Brisbane International and the Aircel Chennai Open in Chennai played in that counted just like the Qatar ExxonMobil Open to Category ATP World Tour 250.

In single- Roger Federer stepped up to defend their title. However, he could not defend his title because he could not take his semifinal match against Jo -Wilfried Tsonga because of a back injury. This won in the final, which had to be interrupted due to fog for half an hour, in two sets against his compatriot Gaël Monfils. This was Tsongas first title in Doha and the eighth ATP title of his career. Monfils, however, which previously in the other semi-final the top-seeded Rafael Nadal defeated, lost for the second time since 2006 the finals of Doha.

In doubles, Marc López and Rafael Nadal were the defending champions. While Nadal took this year only in the individual competition, López played with a new partner, but retired in the quarterfinals of. In this year's final, Filip Polášek and Lukáš Rosol put in two sets against Christopher Kas and by Philipp Kohlschreiber and thus won their first joint ATP title. For Rosol it was also the first ATP title of his career, Polášek however, previously had won seven more titles with other partners.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs.
