2012 Rally d'Italia Sardegna
The 9th Rally of Sardinia, also called Rally Italy Sardinia, was held from 18 to 21 October 2012. A total of 16 special stages were run on gravel.

Day 1 ( Thursday, October 18 )
In the first two stages, the Citroën factory driver drove around the top. Sébastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen separated only just 1 second. Behind Petter Solberg (Ford) with just under 14 seconds behind Thierry Neuville ( Citroën) and Mads Østberg (Ford). Due to a puncture lost Jari- Matti Latvala (Ford) 42 seconds and was after the first day in sixth place.
Day 2 ( Friday, October 19 )
Already in the third special stage had Loeb park the car. Because of a damaged steering, which was drawn by a rockfall affected, the World Champion had to get off. Loeb wants to ride on Saturday according Rally 2 regulations again. In the fifth special stage Sébastien Ogier ( Skoda) set the fastest time. Latvala was flying in a right turn off the road and had to rally a short time later to withdraw due to radiator damage. After a flashover and loss of oil Thierry Neuville also had to finish the rally. But not enough failures in the afternoon Solberg hit with the front of his car. He damaged the steering, continued driving was no longer possible. Evgeny Novikov (Ford) drove in the special stages six and seven is the best, he is behind Hirvonen in second place overall. They were followed by Ott Tanak (Ford) and Ogier.
Day 3 ( Saturday, October 20 )
Hirvonen managed on Saturday his lead over the competition. Østberg won four of six special stages, Novikov a, as Latvala. Hirvonen led before the final two stages on Sunday with 1.28,2 minutes before Novikov, Tanak and Ostberg.
Day 4 ( Sunday, October 21 )
Mikko Hirvonen ( Citroen ) won the second last rally before 2012 Evgeny Novikov (Ford) and Ott Tanak (Ford). The drivers, who were allowed to drive again, thanks to the Rally 2 Regulations after the failure, after repairing the cars, the Power Stage made from among themselves. Here Petter Solberg drove Jari- Matti Latvala and Thierry Neuville a victory.
