Day 1 ( Thursday, August 2 )

Since 1973 runs were driven to the World Rally Championship. In the Rally Finland, there was the issue of a 500th World Rally Championship. This began with a wafer- thin guide for world champion Sébastien Loeb ( Citroën) in front of Petter Solberg and Jari -Matti Latvala (both Ford). In the third special stage Loeb drove out a little more edge. Solberg lost some time and fell behind Mads Østberg (Ford) and Thierry Neuville ( Citroën). Day 2 ( Friday, August 3 )

On the second day of the rally attacked Hirvonen 's team-mate Loeb and reducing the deficit. Nevertheless, was this evening Loeb in the lead with 3.7 seconds ahead of Hirvonen. Exciting was the battle for fifth place between Neuville and Østberg.
