2012 Savannah Challenger

The Savannah Challenger 2012 was the fourth edition of clay tennis court tournament in Savannah. It was part of the ATP Challenger Tour in 2012 and was held from 21 to 29 April 2012.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. For the individual as for the double tournament four participating doubles was held in advance a qualifying round with 32 participants, or place, in which four players, or a pairing be able to qualify for the main draw. The prize money of the event was a total of 30,000 €.

In singles, the Americans Brian Baker, who moved only about a successful qualifying round in the main draw won. He sat down in the final against the unseeded Frenchman Augustin Gensse in straight sets by sat. This what the second Challenger singles title of his career and the first after a long injury break. Last year's winner Wayne Odesnik of the U.S. not stepped up to defend their title.

In the doubles competition the finals to win the topngesetzte pairing consisting of the Australian Carsten Ball and American Bobby Reynolds against the set at position two Travis Parrott of the USA and Simon Stadler of Germany in straight sets. This was Balls 16th success in a doubles tournament of the Challenger category of his career and was the second victory in the tournament in Savannah. For Reynolds, he was the 24th doubles title on the ATP Challenger Tour. It was their first joint title. The South African Rik De Voest last year's winner and Izak van der Merwe were in this situation not to defend his title. While De Voest completely renounced participation, different van der Merwe from the side of the US- American Michael Yani in the semifinals against the eventual tournament winner.
