2012 Tippeligaen

The Tippeligaen 2012 was the 68th season of Norway's highest football league and the 22nd season under the name Tippeligaen. It began on 23 March 2012 with the role of reigning champions Molde FK against Strømsgodset IF ( 2-1) and ended on 18 November 2012 with the 30th game day.

Teams and mode

The 16 teams of the season consisted of the 14 clubs in the places 1 to 14 of the preseason and the two climbers Hønefoss BK and Sandnes Ulf from Adecco Ligaen 2011. They played in home and away matches against each of the master and relegated. The Master takes as last season 's UEFA Champions League part 2013/14 and the second and third place in the UEFA Europa League 2013 / 14th

Venues

For the new season, the club Stabæk IF returned to his old homestead, the Nadderud Stadium, back. When FK Haugesund - as in the preseason - approved by the Norwegian Football Association safety reasons, only 3,904 of the 8,800 seats in Haugesund Stadium.

Course of the season

After the first two match days, there were already two teams that have shot himself no Goals and also get no goals, namely Aalesunds FK and BK Hønefoss. The two games with the most goals (6 ) were previously Fredrikstad FK against Stabæk IF ( 5:1, 2nd Round on 1 April 2012) and Strømsgodset IF against FK Haugesund ( 3:3, 3 Matchday 9 April 2012 ). The defending champions Molde FK was beaten already on the second match 0-2 against FK Haugesund.

Expulsion

The Fourteenth Sandnes Ulf played two games against relegation Ullensaker / Kisa IL, the winner of the promotion round to the second-rate Adecco Ligaen. The first leg in Jessheim took place on November 21, 2012, the return in Sandnes was held on 24 November 2012. Sandnes Ulf secured with two victories to remain in the first division.
