2012 Toyota Racing Series

The Toyota Racing Series 2012 season was the eighth season of the Toyota Racing Series. It began on January 14 in Invercargill and ended on 12 February in Feilding. A total of 15 races were held on 5 tracks. Nick Cassidy won the championship.

Teams and Drivers

The entry list for the 2012 season was published on 28 December 2011. While the driver came in the last few seasons to a large extent from New Zealand, came in 2012 only 6 of 21 pilots from New Zealand. Overall, drivers were from twelve nations against each other. The Toyota Racing Series decreed in 2012 over the most international field of riders, had previously ever has a New Zealand single-seater racing series on the.

All drivers used a Tatuus chassis and engines from Toyota.

Race Calendar

There five race weekends were held with three races. A race was held on Saturday, two races on Sunday. The events were held on five consecutive weekends.

The starting grid for the first race was determined by the fastest time of a driver in qualifying. The two fastest laps of a driver were added and thus determines the starting grid for the second race. In the third race was started after the finishing order of the second race, the first six pilots in reverse order (reversed grid) started. In the last three events, the starting order for the second and third race after each other's procedures have been identified.

The last race on the Manfeild Car Course was the Grand Prix of New Zealand.
