2012 World Team Table Tennis Championships
The 57th World Table Tennis Championships 2012 for teams took place from March 25 to April 1, 2012 in Dortmund. The German city received in April 2009 by the participants of the Annual General Meeting of the International Table Tennis Federation ( ITTF ) the surcharge. Dortmund was the only candidate, having retired on the day before the award of the Serbian Table Tennis Association 's Application for Belgrade due to lack of commitments from sponsors. Dortmund was so after 1959 and 1989 for the third time host of the World Table Tennis Championship.
The championships were held in the Westfalenhalle. Winner of the finals and thus were both world champions in the women ( 3-0 Singapore) as well as in the men (3-0 against hosts Germany ) the crews of the People's Republic of China.
