2013 Acropolis Rally

The 59th Acropolis Rally (Greece ) lasted from 31 May to 2 June 2013. A total of 14 special stages were run on gravel.

Reports

Day 1 ( Friday, May 31 )

In qualifying, on a dirt track of 3.1 kilometers, Sébastien Ogier was fastest ahead of Dani Sordo. Both decided to start at the back of the first special stage. The first test ( 47.7 km ) went to Evgeny Novikov with a journey time of around 33 minutes. Ogier fell with a technical defect of ( fuel pressure ) and was only on Saturday thanks to the Rallye2 Regulations restart. Mads Østberg lost on the first day almost six minutes on the top because of steering problems. Novikov (Ford Fiesta WRC) finished the first day at 30.3 seconds ahead of Sordo ( Citroën DS3 WRC) and Latvala (Volkswagen Polo R WRC).

Day 2 (Saturday, 1 June)

In the special stage six of the Leading Novikov hit a stone, which had a puncture result. Novikov fell far behind. Latvala took over the lead thus without a fight. Sordo was in second place and drove in the sixth fastest time WP. Novikov won the afternoon stages 8 and 9, according to the pitch in the morning. The day was concluded with the WP ten ( 21 km) and in heavy rain. Ogier won his first WP in this rally and was already back on the tenth. Also in the top ten, the team-mate Ogier and Latvala, Andreas Mikkelsen fifth.

Day 3 ( Sunday, June 2 )

Andreas Mikkelsen started on Sunday morning successfully in the day with victories in the stages 11, 12 and 13 Latvala managed his lead of the previous day and wins the rally in Greece Sordo and Thierry Neuville. Ogier reached number 10 and won three more World Cup points in the final Power Stage. For the first time the ex-Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica won ( Citroen DS3 ) the WRC -2 rating in his rally career.

The station Sport 1 brought a minimum of 30 minutes long daily report everyday. ServusTV sent on Monday after the rally, a 60 - minute summary of the evening program. The ORF reported on Sunday after the rally motorsport magazine "DRIVE! " in German and occasionally in English ORF SPORT .
