2013 CAF Champions League

The CAF Champions League 2013 is the 17th edition of the tournament organized by CAF. It began on 15 February 2013, the first round. Defending champion Al Ahly Cairo was from Egypt.

Qualification

Theoretically, all 55 member associations of CAF entitled to send teams. For the best twelve national associations of CAF - five-year rating two starting places are automatically reserved. This is valid for the qualification for the Champions League 2013, the Appreciation of the years 2007 to 2011. Thus apparent from the number of members of the CAF football associations that a maximum of 67 teams in the Champions League could participate.

Open to two teams from the following countries, listed in order of the five-year summary:

  • Morocco
  • DR Congo
  • Sudan
  • Algeria
  • Cameroons
  • Angola
  • Mali
  • Zimbabwe
  • Ivory Coast

All other countries have a starting place.

Preliminary round

First leg from February 15 to 17, Second leg matches from 1 to 3 March 2013.

1 Sporting Clube do Príncipe was excluded from the CAF from the tournament because he did not compete for the first leg.

First round

First leg from March 15 to 17, Second leg matches from 5 to 7 April 2013.

Second round

First leg from April 19 to 21, Second leg matches from 3 to 5 May 2013.

Quarter-final ( Group Stage )

In the quarter-final group stage occur in two groups of four teams in home and away matches against each other. The group winners and runners qualify for the semifinals.

First leg on November 2, second leg on 10 November 2013.
