2013 FIBA Asia Championship
The basketball Asia Championship 2013 ( officially: FIBA Asia Championship 2013) was 27th edition of this tournament and took place from August 1 to August 11, 2013 to Philippines. It was organized by FIBA Asia, the Asian Basketball Federation. The top three winners were given a place at the 2014 World Cup.

Participant
A total of 15 teams took part in the Asia Cup 2013, may qualify in different ways for the tournament. The team from Lebanon came not at the Meisterschafzten. Automatically qualify was the host, and the winner of the FIBA Asia Stankovic Cup. The two places were the representatives from West, East, South East Asia and the Gulf region. South and Central Asia each received a starting place. The last four starting positions were awarded based on the results of the Stankovic Cup 2012. This got West Asia three more launch sites and the Gulf region a starting place.

1) In July 2013 FIBA suspended the membership of Lebanon for an indefinite period. Thus Lebanon was excluded from the participation in the Asian Cup. FIBA has tried to invite the runners of West Asian qualifying Iraq and United Arab Emirates, but they both said because of a lack of preparation time from. Thus, it was decided by FIBA perform 15-team tournament. All the teams in Group B were qualified for the next round regardless of the outcome of the group matches. All games were played in two different gyms in Manila.
Preliminary round
In the preliminary round of four teams played in three groups against each other. In Group B, Were playing only three teams. The winner of the match was awarded two points, the loser one point. The top three in each group reached the group stage. The fourth-placed played for places 13-16.

After the preliminary competition, the first three teams qualified in each of a group for the group stage. The three best teams in the groups A and B formed the group E, the best of the groups C and D formed the new group F. Each team tratt one match against each of the three teams from the other Preliminary Round group. The points from the preliminary round games against teams from their own group were taken.

Mode
After the second round to the first four teams qualified in each of the two groups E and F for the final round. It was played in the quarter final cross against an opponent from the other sub-lap group. Subsequently, both the winners of the quarter finals met in the semi-finals, and the losers in the placement round for positions five to eight. The winners of the semi-finals bestreiteten the finals, the loser, the third-place match. The winners of the placement games played for fifth place, the losers for seventh place. The fifth and six placed from Groups E and F were playing cross KO system for places 9 to 12
