2013 Garanti Koza WTA Tournament of Champions

The Garanti Koza Tournament of Champions 2013 ( also known as the International Tournament of Champions ) was a women's tennis invitational tournament, which was played as an individual competition on Hard Court from October 29 to November 3, 2013 in Sofia ( Bulgaria). That the WTA Tour in 2013 scoring tournament was the fifth edition of the tournament, which has appeared for the second time in Sofia and by the year 2011 in Bali ( Indonesia) was played. Defending champion was the Russian Nadia Petrova. Main sponsor of the tournament in 2013 was the international construction company Garanti Koza.

Qualification

Qualification mode

At the tournament, eight ladies were invited, had to meet the following requirements:

  • For the six top-ranked players in the WTA World Ranking (as of October 21, 2013 ), the 2013, at least one of 30 tournaments in the category International ( prize money: $ 235,000 ) were able to win the WTA tour and not at the WTA Championships 2013 in Istanbul assume that attendance is mandatory.

Competition mode

In the round robin phase (English Round Robin ) play four players in two groups, each to each. The top two in each group qualify for the semifinals, which will take place after the knock-out system.
