2013 Premier League Darts

The McCoy's Premier League Darts in 2013 was an invitational event, which was organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. She was discharged on 7 February until 16 May 2013 for round-robin system, followed by semifinals and finals. The preliminary match days were Thursday from 7 February to 9 May 2013. The play-offs were played on 16 May 2013, the O ₂ Arena in London.

The tournament victory went to the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen, who defeated the defending champion Phil Taylor of England in the final 10-8 in legs.

On German television, the Premier League 2013 was broadcast live on Sport 1. The pay- TV channel Sport 1 additionally showed some match days live and in full.

Prizes

The prize money has been increased from the previous year to £ 70,000 to a total of £ 520,000.

The prize money obtained were not considered for the Order of Merit.

  • Semi-finals: £ 55,000 ( losers of the semi-finals )
  • 5th place: 45,000 GBP
  • 6th place: 40,000 GBP
  • 7th place: 35,000 GBP
  • 8th place: 30,000 GBP
  • 9th place: 20,000 GBP
  • 10th Place: £ 15,000

Qualification

The qualifying format was different from previous years. The top four players in the PDC Order of Merit after the PDC World Championship 2013 were qualified for the tournament. In addition, now six instead of four players had been invited in recent years because of their performance.

Competition mode

After the first nine matchdays eliminated from the two last placed the table. At this time, all players each had once played against each other. The remaining eight players then played in five games of the playoff spots.

All games in the group stage were in the mode Best of 12 Legs discharged, that is, the player who had first won 7 legs, won the game. With the score of 6:6 the match ended in a draw and counted.
