2013 Rally Argentina

The 33rd Rally Argentina was the 5th round of the World Rally Championship in 2013 and lasted from 1 to 4 May 2013. A total of 14 special stages were run on gravel.

Day 1 ( Wednesday, May 1 )

The rally began with the qualification on Wednesday morning on a short gravel road of 4.5 kilometers. Jari -Matti Latvala, with the VW Polo R WRC on the road, won this just ahead of Sébastien Loeb in Citroën DS3 WRC. The short Super - Stage in the afternoon decided Ogier for the right Loeb. An event primarily for the audience.

Day 2 ( Thursday, May 2 )

At the top it was close to Sébastien Ogier and Mikko Hirvonen between, after three stages led Ogier by 3.6 seconds, the overall standings. Loeb had problems with the vote of his car and fell back. In the afternoon it started to rain and the waitresses were difficult. Ogier led at the end of the day at the standings, while Loeb had to settle for fourth place. Day 3 ( Friday, May 3 )

On the third day the duel of Ogier Rally against Loeb was. In the seventh special stage Ogier went off the road and lost 44 seconds. Loeb took the lead and team-mate Hirvonen was with 8.9 seconds down behind him. In the afternoon Ogier lost again time due to a puncture. The same fate befell Hirvonen, who was lying in second place. His car was badly damaged by the flying tire parts on the body, which cost him much time. In the overall classification Loeb led before Ogier with 40.3 seconds ahead Evgeny Novikov and with 2:39 minutes.

Day 4 ( Saturday, May 4 )

Due to the large projection of Sébastien Loeb, the courts were backed up. Ogier was satisfied with second place and no longer attacked. Behind fought Latvala ( puncture on Friday ) and Novikov for third place. However, Novikov was beaten just because of a defect in the electronic system. Latvala won all four stages on the last day of the rally. Sébastien Loeb and co-driver Daniel Elena won the Rally Argentina for the eighth time.
