The 27th Rally Mexico lasted from 7 to 10 March 2013. A total of 23 special stages were run on gravel.

Qualification ( Thursday, March 7 )

Mikko Hirvonen won the qualification before Evgeny Novikov, he was able to be the first to choose his starting number of the first special stage on Friday, it was the number 13

Day 1 ( Friday, March 8 )

After the first two short stages Sébastien Ogier was (Volkswagen Polo R ) lead. Then Thierry Neuville was ahead, but dropped back to 4 in the afternoon. Mads Østberg (Ford Fiesta RS) came in second, while Dani Sordo ( Citroën DS3 WRC ) with its daily output was not satisfied with fifth place. Jari -Matti Latvala drove over a stone in the first special stage, a wishbone broke and Latvala dropped out. He started on Saturday thanks to the rule2 Regulations again. Mikko Hirvonen was with 10.7 seconds back in third place. Chris Atkinson damaged a wheel and lost 21 minutes by Citroën DS3. No luck had co- driver Ilka Minor at their centenary rally use (pilot Evgeny Novikov ). A rock smashed through the subfloor and damaged the electronics of the car.

Day 2 (Saturday, 9 March),

Despite a closed door ( passenger Ingrassia had to get out and open ) Ogier led the rally after the Saturday already with 1:08 minutes ahead of Hirvonen in front of a tire failure in WP 18 before the special stage 15 Østberg had electrical problems and had to rally give up. Neuville fought with a broken steering and turned, but he was at the end of the day in third place, but already with 2:44 minutes behind Ogier. Benito Guerra drove for the first time in the WRC category and was a rally in the overall standings in seventh place. In the short Super Stage ( 1.23km ) in the evening was the fastest Mikko Hirvonen Sébastien Ogier before. Evgeny Novikov went to the problems on Friday back in the top 10

Day 3 ( Sunday, March 10 )

Because of the closed gate on Saturday Ogier received on Sunday a time credit of 40 seconds. Hirvonen secured the second place from before Thierry Neuville, this under braking before a tight corner and came just off the road. Neuville lost in this mishap about 20 seconds over Hirvonen. The Power Stage Ogier won, so he secured an additional 3 championship points. The other points were awarded to Østberg who on Sunday took up the rally again, and Latvala. With 3:26 minutes Ogier won the rally ahead of Hirvonen Mexico. Benito Guerra finished his home rally in the eighth.
