(2013 ) Tucapel (1971 UH4; 1936 PL; 1940 XC; 1942 EP1; 1950 TP2, and in 1969 AT, 1974 MM, 1974 NA, 1974 OJ ) is an asteroid of the main belt, the October 22, 1971 by Carlos Torres and J. Petit was discovered in the Cerro El Roble Observatory.

Designation

The asteroid was named after the chief Tucapel in the Arauco War, whose wife was Gualeva. Tucapel died in 1560 in the fight against the Spanish soldiers.
